Fresh from touring with Franz Ferdinand and following a landmark year for the band seeing them tour across the UK and Europe, The Great Leslie return with thier latest single “Sindre,” which is the fourth single to be taken from their upcoming debut album.

The band believe that “Sindre” showcases their most emotionally vulnerable songwriting to date.

The track is set to an upbeat tempo with its lyrics depicting the sad tale. Its not at all depressing in terms of sound however, it’s an almost celebratory soundcape with stadium worthy chorus hooks layered with harmonious backing melodies and coupled with a fast paced back beat of drums, interpsersed with heavy electric guitar riffs.

Ollie Trevers from the band has said of the track:-

“Sindre is about our bass player’s cousin, Sindre, who battled severe mental health challenges and died by suicide. The song serves as a tribute to his life and memory, and forms part of a wider thread running through our upcoming album, which explores mental health and grief.”

Alongside touring with Franz Ferdinand, The Great Leslie has twice performed at Germany’s STIMMEN Festival, supporting James Blunt in 2024 and The Beach Boys in 2025, collaborated with Bloc Party guitarist Russell Lissack on ‘Just Say Yes,’ and most recently appeared at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.

The band has headlined iconic UK venues including London’s Moth Club and Manchester’s Night & Day Café as well as at some of Europe’s most iconic venues, including Forest National (Brussels), Tempodrom (Berlin).

Amazingly the band’s upcoming debut album was entirely funded by their own fanbase, with a dedicated crowdfunding campaign raising over £30,000. The album was recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London.

Previously The Great Leslie have received support from BBC Radio 6 Music (Amy Lamé), Radio X (John Kennedy), BBC Introducing, BBC Wales (Janice Long), XS Manchester, SiriusXM (Simon Le Bon) and Amazing Radio, alongside countless independent stations worldwide.

Their songs have also featured on Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists, as well as Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and Made in Chelsea.

In addition, earlier last year, The Great Leslie reached the televised final of Germany’s Eurovision selection show, ‘Chefsache,’ appearing across three consecutive prime-time broadcasts to millions of viewers. The exposure gave the band significant traction across the continent.

After six years, more than 30 original releases and hundreds of live performances, The Great Leslie are a band who feel thier story is only just beginning. With “Sindre,” they state that they are delivering what they believe is not only one of their strongest songs to date, but also a powerful statement of intent ahead of the release of their upcoming debut album.
