Sunset Ruins are the London four piece who today (25 Sept) unleash their high octane rock n roll banger;’Jimmy Wailer’.
Packed with epic, stadium worthy guitar riffs, thundering drum beats and pulsating bass notes, the track already having been a long time firm favourite when performed live is filled with catchy chorus hooks and infectious vocals made for rowdy crowd sing alongs. The track races along with adrenelin in a whirlwind fuelled by palable excitment that hurtles towards an explosive climax with chants of the unforgettable repeated outro line ‘Goodbye Jimmy Wailer, shame you had no saviour’,
Its easy to see why this track is so popular when performed live and Sunset Ruins have admirably managed to capture the magic and chaos of a live gig into this record.
Built around an instantly recognisable opening guitar hook, ‘Jimmy Wailer’ tells the story of a man whose life slowly unravels through addiction and greed. There is something universal in the character at the heart of the song, with its lyrics connecting with audiences from all walks of life.
Recorded and mixed by Michael Smith at RYP Recordings and mastered by Andy ‘Hippy’ Baldwin at Metropolis Studios, ‘Jimmy Wailer’ captures a certain energy and ambition that puts forward an undeniable statemnet of intent from Sunset Ruins.
The track is also being released alongside an official music video which features new music champions, legends and very good friends of The Songbird; Ralph and Amy Neale; see if you can spot them!!
The music video was shot in various locations in South London including the Rose Of Denmark pub and is
dedicated to the memory of the Guvnor Andy Norman – “Forever remembered, Forever missed”.
