It’s fair to say that Teeside born and based Finn Forster has a has a whirlwind 2026 from undertaking his biggest headline tour to date to various festival stages, the singer-songwriter is continuing on his upwards trajecroty with the release of his latest single; ‘Blame It On You’.

Having previously made no secret of the fact that his music has been heavily influenced by his roots, growing up surrounded by musicians and especially Irish Folk Music, his own music has become known as a cross over between indie and country, however, this latest release seems to be somewhat breaking free of the expected.

‘Blame It On You’ is not an immediately attention grabbing track, its not all bells and whistles, but more so a slow buring melody that enters the listeners conscious long before they’ve even realised. Its a song you will listen to once and walk away, come back a second time intrigued and then come back a third time completely hooked!

The narrative behind the melody centres on the age old tale of a relationbship gone wrong. Its not a sad song though, its layered with a thoughtful depth being carried along by a continous rhythm until the track is lifted and levelled up in the chrous hooks.

The track is a simple and uncomplicated melody that is not seeking to prove anything, it is what it is and its this honesty that fans will adore in this number.

Forster has said of the track:-

“Blame It On You is a song that follows the breakdown of a relationship I had. Moving through blame and accountability. I wanted to tell a raw and honest story but not through the style of a traditional sad break up song. It’s cool, hooky and anthemic and meant to be played loud.”

For a lad who started out playing folk tunes in his family band, there now seems to be no slowing down for the star after the release of his track ‘Strangers’ in May reveived support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1 Introducing, BBC Radio 2 and Radio X and after a summer of him performing at festivals such as the Isle Of Wight and TRNSMT and now as he prepares to head out on tour with Des Rocs this October.

‘Blame It On You’ is out now and is available across all major streaming platforms.
