Continuing their upwards momentum swing, Tres Kings have released their new single ‘Cool Kid’.

In typical fashion, the single is punchy, gutsy and full of swaggering attitude. It’s the Tres Kings we’ve all come to expect.

There’s something in the water for the Kent based outfit, as they continue to release hook-filled indie anthems, and seemingly appear to never stop recording at The Albion Rooms, Margate.

This new release comes at a poignant time in the bands career. Just over a fortnight ago, Tres Kings announced to the world that they had signed a distribution deal with SOULPUNX record.

Not only this, but this comes with the news that SOULPUNX will be assisting in the distribution and promotion of a 6 track EP. More news on this will follow soon.

‘Cool Kid’ is a song fans of the band will have heard many times recently at their live shows. Frontman Wez King is at his swaggering best at the heart of the track with a sharp, wiry guitar tone and vocals packed with attitude.

He’s joined by brothers Rhu and Lacs (Swedish) Fuller propping up the rhythm section. Swedish steers the track with a driving bassline that packs a groove. Rhu takes advantage of some crisp, snappy drums to balance alongside the wiry guitar.

Lyrically, Wez King divulges into the sentiments of school days and the things that make you the ‘Cool Kid’. Moments such as smoking in the park or sniffing keys in the car.

The song also cameos friend of the band and cool drummer himself, Timothy Midnight. He opens the track with a scattered, daydreamed voice note to the band, which repeats itself later in the track.

The Kent trio have already released ‘ET’, ‘Bad Side Baby’ and ‘Roll Up Your Sleeves’ this year, with promise of more on the way.

‘Cool Kid’ is produced by Jason Stafford at The Albion Rooms (Home of The Libertines), Margate and mastered by Graham Waller. The artwork also features Wez King at age 7.

Tres Kings also have a headline slot in coming up this weekend. On the 24th October they will be headlining The Troubadour, London for Cooper Concepts Gigs, supported by Payola and Ventrelles. £10 tickets can be found here.

Let’s not forget the other adventures this momentum has swung their way. At the start of the year they supported Trampolene on two sold out shows at The Lexington, London and opened for indie kings The Libertines at Rochester Castle during their run of summer performances.
