LOCKED IN SESSION AT ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS
Ahead of the release of their much-anticipated upcoming new album release, Ultra Mono, IDLES recently performed three LIVE sets streamed direct to you from the world famous Abbey Road Studios over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.

IDLES are undoubtedly one of the biggest bands coming out of the UK at the moment and these locked in sessions were a real treat for any IDLES fan or just any music fan out there in general to be fair.
We here at The Songbird couldn’t turn down such an amazing opportunity to see LIVE MUSIC and were lucky enough to catch one of the said live stream sets!
When IDLES first announced that they were doing a series of locked in live stream sessions from the legendary Abbey Road Studios, we were more than just a little bit stoked at the prospect. Its feels like a life time since we’ve been able to enjoy the pure, unadulterated pleasure of live music pumping through our blood streams and this performance from punk idols IDLES certainly served to scratch that itch!
The band hunkered down in the Abbey Road Studios over a period of two days (3 performances in total) giving the viewer an intimate and exclusive feel to the whole experience. This is perhaps somewhat contrary to what any long term IDLES fan would expect, but it worked and it worked really well!
Front Man Joe Talbot certainly did not disappoint and despite the low key tone of the set up, he gave it his all in his usual on stage style of complete and utter punk madness. In fact every member of the IDLES massive knew what their part was to play and they played it as though they were on that festival main stage in front of a crowd of thousands. It was an absolute pleasure and a joy to behold.
The band played a whole host of their popular hits including an opening track of “Colossus” and firm fan favourites such as “Danny Nedelko” and “White Privilege”. Perhaps in a somewhat unforeseen turn of events IDLES also treated us to a cover version of a song which was their take on The Strokes song “Reptilia”, but you know what they fucking pulled it off, it was immense.
Overall, we had an amazing time and what could of been a depressing Bank Holiday weekend with no plans, turned out to be one of the best on record.
IDLES are set to release their 3rd album Ultra Mono on Partisan Records on the 25.09.2020 and you can pre-order it now at http://www.idlesband.com

Front man Joe Talbot has also recently been the subject of a host of QNA tours with tour agents Toura Toura Ltd and we are advised that there is talk of hopefully more dates to follow so make sure you’re following @ltdtouratoura for updates on those.
