Today (22nd January) see the release of the brand new 4th single entitled “Doctors Orders” from the Manchester four piece band; Lyerr.

The band consists of James Kershaw, Ryan Johnson, Samuel Greene and Rory Magner.

Coming from a city known for anthem writers, Manchester’s Lyerr are looking at joining their fellow Mancunian anthem exponents, with the huge, infectious “Doctor’s Orders”.

The band have said that this latest track was originally released on their first ever EP back in 2016. They were never entirely happy with that version of it and ever since have been working on it to make it “stronger and stronger“. They then went into the studio and recorded it with Gavin Monaghan of Magic Garden Studios (Editors, The Blinders). The band say that the chorus is completely new and much improved and they think people are really going to enjoy their most dance inspired song to date.

With its incredibly catchy riffs, grooves and chorus hooks, we believe that they may just be right with this upbeat clubland classic.

It is, we feel, a sound that could only come from Manchester and it fully justifies the buzz around the band from the likes of indie tastemakers This Feeling.

Having beaten off hundreds of bands to be crowned by Virgin Records as the north’s ‘best new band’ and flown out to America with Andy Bell (Ride/Oasis) through their debut single ‘Taking Over’, their following singles led to an array of festival performances and sold out headline shows alongside songs of the week on the BBC and Radio X.

Lyerr are set to perform at a socially distanced headline show at Manchester Academy 1 on Friday 16th April all being well and it will be their biggest show to date. They are also a current slot on the shortlist for Mad Cool festival as well as having some other “top secret” yet be be announced gigs up their sleeves!

Listen to the brand new track “Doctors Orders” here now.

Lyerr are a band you should most definitely be keeping an eye and an ear on in 2021.
