MAY SERIOUSLY HARM YOU AND OTHERS AROUND YOU – EP REVIEW

The Reytons are a four piece Sheffield based band who first formed in 2017 when they met through their local music scene. They all had one common goal; to make the type of music that they liked and so “Slice of Lime” was born.

Fast forward to the now, and yesterday (19/02/21) saw the release of the lads eagerly anticpated latest EP “May Seriously Harm You and Others Around You“

The Reytons are a band with a certain swagger and cheeky attitude about them, their songs grab attention, like music royalty walking into a crowded room, when a The Reytons tune plays, the room falls silent with everyone in rapt anticipation and awe.

The new EP is full of the bands signature punchy energetic guitar riffs and husky vocals not dissimilar to the greatness of the early Arctic Monkeys and Catfish and The Bottlemen That being said, The Reytons are unique insofar as they certainly bring their own irrepressible fun loving style to the table in abundance.

The EP contains hit after hit with six tracks being included in total “Red Smoke, Behind Enemy Lines, Tears in the Taxi Rank, Broke Boys Cartel, Jealous Type and Shoe Box”.

Every track has the common theme of being an absolute indie/alt rock banger worthy of stadium sized crowds. We’ve had the EP playing on repeat and honestly can’t get enough of it. It’s been a while since a new release has filled us with such excitement and when you hear it, we’re such you’ll be inclined to agree!

Aside the music the band’s videos have also become somewhat notorious now, with the previously released “Red Smoke” featuring Neil Fitzmaurice (from Phoenix Nights/ Brassic) and the latest video released yesterday for ‘Broke Boys Cartel’ features Steve Huison ( from The Full Monty and Lomper).

The Reytons are due to tour the EP in September/October 2021 already having sold out shows at the o2 Academy in Sheffield, The Brudenell in Leeds and the Academy 3 in Manchester. Understandably tickets are flying for these gigs so make sure you get in quick and get yours here now .

The Reytons are no strangers to performing having previously played at several UK festivals including Y-Not, Neighbourhood Weekender and Tramlines. The Band have also been confirmed to play again at Neighbourhood Weekender, Y Not, Kendal Calling and a main stage performance at Tramlines which just goes to demonstrate what high commodity band The Reytons really are.
