Jamie McGraw is a singer/songwriter from the north of England. Jamie previously fronted the band Sugarspun and enjoyed success with them by headlining events for promoters such as ‘This Feeling’, ‘Scruff Of The Neck’ and supporting such acts as Black Grape.
No stranger to playing on the big stage either, Jamie’s band performed at the Etihad stadium before a Champions League game, gaining sponsorship from clothing brand Marshall Artist for their AW18 collection and playing major festivals such as Kendal Calling, Carfest and The Big Feastival.
Jamie has now branched out as a solo artist and his debut single ‘Soul Is Music’ was inspired by not wanting to give up on making music. So far this single has made its way onto ‘This Feeling’s Best New Bands’ & ‘Fresh From MCR’ playlists along with radio premiere play on BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio.
Jamie’s second single ‘Spontaneous Time’ also enjoyed success getting radio play on BBC Introducing & The Hit Mix 107.5 along with being added to playlists such as ‘Best New Bands A SHOT OF INDIE (IYE Purplmacaron)’ & ‘BEST OF 2021’.
Jamie has recently released his fresh new single ‘Hey You‘. The single stars off with a strumming acoustic guitar with an easy feel good vibe, the lyrics feeling very retro in style, reminding us of the likes of Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Its a lazy, hazy, happy feeling, little ditty of a tune. Its blissful in its tuneful melodies, picking up towards the end of the track with more rocky vibe hinting at more unexpected things to come and definitely leaves you wanting more. All in all its a delicious offering, the accompanying video being perfectly befitting, making us want to dance along on the sand like no ones watching either.
listen to “Hey You” for yourself here now.
The track has already received plays on Amazing Radio, In Your Ears Radio & The Hit Mix 107.5 and is also featured on the ‘Indie Radar’ Spotify playlist.
Jamie has said his musical influences include acts such as: The Beatles, Oasis, Richard Ashcroft, The Stone Roses, Paul Weller, Paolo Nutini, Blossoms, John Lennon, Jake Bugg and Arctic Monkeys.
