MEET OUR SPONSORS

We are delighted to be collaborating with the amazing clothing brand, Indie Girls Dream on our Track Of The Week feature.

Indie Girls Dream signature logo

Michelle from IGD is certainly a girl after our own hearts with her love of good music and fine fashion. This could well be a match made in Heaven!

Indie Girls Dream is a major name in the music fashion world with the likes of Peter Doherty, Carl Barat, Andy Crofts, Kyle Falconer, Mickey Beans and Gordon Smart all being big fans and regularly being seen sporting IGD clothing.

Peter Doherty

Michelle says that her love of good music comes initially from her family who are all music lovers. She says she was brought up with her parents listening to music like The Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zepplin.

Carl Barat and Edie Langley’s Boys Eli and Ramone

Michelle’s love of love music was further instilled when she went to her first T in The Park in 1995 where Paul Weller, The Charlatans, Shed Seven, Elastic, The Verve and Cast were all performing then later that same year she went to her first gig to see The Charlatans at The Barrowlands in Glasgow and she fell in love with the scene immediately.

Kyle Falconer

Michelle’s favourite bands are Babyshambles, Shed Seven, The Charlatans, The Libertines and Oasis and she is honoured to have had most of them already be seen featured in one of her IGD pieces.

Mickey Beans – Boogaloo Radio and La Roux

Michelle has said about Indie Girls Dream:

“Two of my biggest passions in life are fashion and music. I’d always dreamt of doing something in the clothing industry that involved music. I was helping some friends with a fashion project that they had on the go and just happened to mention that it was my dream to do something like this. They helped me at the beginning to get things off the ground and gave me the confidence that I needed just to go for it. I have always been an indie girl and I get frustrated to see everyone jump on the bandwagon of clothing that’s endorsed by the most recent Love Island contest or the likes. I wanted to create a brand that was a bit different and suited the indie market.”The logo (for IGD) came from an original sketch that I had on my phone before the brand was even born. I did try to change it then tweak it to look more symmetrical (as this plays with my desire for perfection a little) but in the end I felt that it gave it more of an indie feel and went well with the brand.”

The brand caters from Men, women and children.

Gordon Smart – Radio X

We here at The Songbird HQ are absolutely delighted and honoured to be teaming up with such an amazing brand. Keep an eye out every Friday for our Track of The Week Feature which Michelle is very hands on with, putting forward her own suggestions.
