The band were formed in 2020 and consists of Jack Heaton, Nicholas Kitts, Johnny Raper and William Watts.

Although 2020 wasn’t exactly the best year to be starting a band, the obvious challenges didn’t deter the lads and they have successfully managed to make a name for themselves on the underground scene. They released their debut single “Chasing Youth” at the start of 2020. The single received great critical acclaim accruing over 8,000 streams and rightly making the band one of the acts to be hotly tipped for 2021.

As mentioned above, the Flechettes are now back with their eagerly anticipated debut EP “Ink And Gold”.

The title track from the EP ‘Ink and Gold’ has been premiered on John Kennedys show on Radio X and has been featured on XS Manchester, been made the This Feeling Track of the Day and as well as the amazing accolade of having the entire EP played on the Rodney Bingenheimer show; Sirius XFM in America.

The opening and title track “Ink and Gold” takes us on a journey of self discovery within our own minds. The dark lyrics giving a vibe of reflection. The crashing, pounding drum beats giving pace and rhythm to the track. The guitars providing a melody perfect for the soulful lyrics.

The second track “Innuendo” is definitely providing that live music dip and drive with the the first 50 seconds providing the build up for an explosive energy that every crowd needs, then slowing the pace back down. This is what the fans will be waiting for. What a tune!!

The third track ‘Whilst We’re Here’ which was written by bass player William Watts, shows a gentler side to the bands sound. It slows the pace right down whilst the track still has that energetic guitar riff, but with a calming undertone that lead singer Jack Heaton provides.

Closing track ‘Caffeine’ off the EP was one of the first ever songs the band wrote and it stands out with its heavy guitar riffs, and drawing lyrics. Speaking of drowning in regular life. The track is one of the bands most loved songs among fans who have been following the band from the start.

In summary, the Flechettes EP is comprised of four outstanding tracks both musically and lyrically. Each track provides the listener with a fast paced rock n roll sound coupled with catchy indie riffs and big choruses that has become the signature sound of this young band. Flechettes are definitely not ones to miss and This EP will leave you wanting so much more.
