AWAKE
Yesterday (Friday 15th October) saw the release of the brand new single from The Heavy North āAwakeā taken from their debut album Electric Soul Machine.
āAwakeā is the third single from the Liverpool based five-piece band to be taken from their upcoming debut album Electric Soul Machine, which is expected to be released in January 2022.

This latest track follows the release of the bandās previous singles āDarkness In Your Eyesā back in April and āNo Goodā in July of this year.
āAwakeā is a politically charged banger of a tune from the blues rock band and given the bandās previous plays by the BBC Introducing and BBC 6 Music weāre sure that this latest effort is sure to be a huge hit with fans and music industry people alike.

Front man Kenny Stuart has said of the track;
“Although we’re not really a political band, now more than ever we’re each seeing how so many things are dividing people – things like money, religion, race, gender, sexuality, social media etc. and even the response to COVID”
“Awake talks about the “woke” movement, but also about recognising that problems canāt always be solved by getting offended, or expecting the world to change around them. If anything, this can often create a bigger divide”.
“Instead, it’s about finding that common ground and the things that unite us, as most of the time we’re all in the same boat and face similar problems”.

āAwakeā was recorded and produced by the band’s guitarist Jose Ibanez at 3rd Planet Recording Studio in Liverpool, and mastered by Martin Kuchta at Roughgrain Mastering.
The Heavy North self-released their debut 4-track EP ‘Dive Bar Blues‘ on 12″ vinyl in December last year during the pandemic.
The band are now gearing up for the release of their debut album āElectric Soul Machineā and have announced a string of live dates across the UK – including headline shows in Birmingham (Dead Wax, 16 Oct), Manchester (22 Oct, Retro), Liverpool (5 Nov, Jimmys – SOLD OUT) and London (The Fiddler, 11 Nov).

The Heavy North recently played their first indoor show in 18 months at Future Yard in Birkenhead supporting Los Angeles band Dead Poet Society where they were greatly received by a mass of fans welcoming them back to the stage.
The Heavy North’s new single āAwakeā is available on all streaming and download platforms now. Debut album album Electric Soul Machine is now available to pre-order on 12″ vinyl & CD from www.theheavynorth.com
