Hailing from Nottingham, The Chase are a four piece amalgamation of 60’s inspired jangly choruses and 90’s brit-pop swagger mixed together with a hefty dose of good old rock and roll to make a sound that is all their own.

The Chase are a true family affair with the band starting life as young 8, 10 and 11 year olds when lead singer, Tyler Heaney recruited his younger brother, Dion, to play drums alongside cousin, Luke Childs, on bass. The band would later be complete when school mate, James Cahill, joined on keys to turn the family trio into a quartet. Inspired by their council estate roots, The Chase named themselves after the very streets on which they were raised.
After a whirlwind 2021 which saw The Chase being championed by new music legends, This Feeling in their ‘’Big in 2021’’ showcase as well as performances at last year’s Isle of Wight Festival, The Great Escape, Gathering Sounds and Rewired and a UK tour which saw them sell out a huge 450 capacity hometown show at the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham, THE CHASE are now back and yesterday (24th February 2022) released their latest single ‘I’m the Man’ via Golden Robot Records.
‘I’m The Man’ is the follow up single to the 2021 single releases, ‘Set the World to Rights’ and ‘Death Of Me’.

The new single is a psychedelic flashback to the glory days of great Rock and Roll. With its gnarly, gritty lyrics and bluesy piano instrumentals it puts me in mind of the likes of The Doors combined with a more modern Kasabian. Its a track that is positively dripping in a certain self assured charm not unlike that you would expect from Liam Gallagher. You think you know where this track is going when out of nowhere like a thunderbolt comes in this incredible guitar solo. The track is relentless in its attack with its fast paced rhythms and dirty, heavy beats from start to finish. It’s the perfect track to get the party well and truly started.
Front Man Tyler has said of the track:
“‘I’m the Man’ is an out and out rock ’n’ roll slammer. It’s the total opposite end of the spectrum to our last single, which was an emotive ballad that showed my vulnerable side. Lyrically, ‘I’m The Man’ is the most arrogant song I’ve ever written and I like that. The term is often thrown my way, but I’m not sure why!? I think the track is also James’s best performance to date, the e-piano really gives the track a dark and bluesy vibe. Dion also needs a shout out, not only for the drumming, but his backing vocals really add to the chorus and give it a lift.”

2022 promises to be a big year for The Chase with more new music releases planned, a double vinyl release scheduled as well as headline shows at Rock City in Nottingham and The Lexington in London.
