Is it the cool thing to have something negative to say about Dom Harrison aka Yungblud these days? If so I’m a huge loser because I F****** love him and everything he stands for.

Also, bullying him is really lame! Grow up – I’m looking at you… mainstream industry snobs.
I just won’t hear the negativity, as an ‘elder emo’ who experienced what it’s like trying to find your people in a sea of trend followers who thought anything alternative was weird, I relate to him.
The most ironic thing is how the alternative culture and fashion he champions is now the coolest thing to be seen wearing, the mean kids from school who pushed the likes of Yungblud fans around saw Travis Barker marry a Kardashian and decided Dr Martens and band T-Shirts are cool.
It’s a shame they didn’t think that when they were calling us all ‘f****** mosher’s’ at school! Not that I’m bitter but I hope none of our kind share secrets with them and teach them the correct way to break in their docs, they deserve a blister or two.
Anyway, back to the album… the third album from Yorkshires finest, self-titled ‘Yungblud’ is a 12 track record featuring a smasher of a collaboration ‘Memories’ with WILLOW and a music video for ‘Funeral’ with none other than the prince of darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne. Listen here
Having seen Yungblud live before, it’s clear why his tours sell out. You see people of all ages, genders, races, religions and sexualities find a safe haven in his music. That’s what it’s all about for me, unity.

My favourite lyric from the album is taken from the song ‘I Cry 2’ and goes like this
‘Everybody online keeps saying I’m not really gay, I’ll start dating men when they go to therapy’
I think I need to take your advice, Dom.

One of my favourite stories, taken from a recent NME article with Dom is when he ran into another, loud mouthed Notherner by the name of Liam Gallagher.
“even Liam Gallagher turned around to me and said, ‘You’re a little bit fucking gobby, aren’t you? I told him, ‘Yeah, I fucking am!’”
He must have something about him if he caught LG’s attention.
So, this might have been more of a love letter to that scatty, ADHD riddled beautiful human being that is Yungblud rather than an in depth album review but so what! Please keep making people feel safe to be exactly who they are, you legend.
