The Gulps today (29th April) make their mcuh awaited joyous return with the release of their new single ‘Got Ya’ (via Downtown Records). The single release comes ahead of their 2026 EU tour with Public Image Ltd, and an early 2027 UK tour with The Frattellis – All dates listed below.

Having burst onto the scene in London, their rise attracted attention from key industry figures, including agent Steve Strange, and in 2021 they signed with Alan McGee, the visionary founder of Creation Records (Oasis, Primal Scream, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Ride, and The Hives).

In 2024, however, the band were sadly forced into an idefinite hiatus when long time band member and brother Francesco was diagnosed with cancer. All plans for the band were paused including the cancellation of their US tour, while everyone rallied and supported Franco in his recovery.

Happily followingf a remission and now back where they belong, the band have started as they mean to go on already having opened for The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Happy Mondays and Public Image Ltd on thier international tours all the while while working in the background on thier own new material.

Produced by legendary Martin “Youth” Glover (The Verve, Pink Floyd, Guns N’ Roses, Killing Joke, Embrace, The Orb, The Fireman, The Charlatans, Dido, Cast), the brand new single ‘Got Ya’ exemplifies the band’s signature blend of raw energy, emotional honesty, and twisted humor.

Capturing the same frenetic sense of energy and guitar led vibrancy which fans of the band have come to know and love. Packing a punk punch, infectious melodies and playful lyricism, the track brings a vibrant 60s undertone to the band’s playful indie-rock tendencies, the track builds before bursting into a euphoric guitar solo and final breakdown.

Talking about the single the band explain:

“Got Ya captures that strange, vulnerable and almost surreal moment of a couple lying in bed after a wild night out. Under the influence of drugs, unable to sleep or to connect physically, they find themselves trapped in an intimate limbo where all they can do is share chaotic thoughts, twisted truths and a kind of confused tenderness.

The track blends emotional tension with dark humour as it explores that feeling of being lost yet somehow still holding on to each other. Produced by Youth (Martin Glover), the song preserves the raw, twisted energy that defines The Gulps, combining attitude, vulnerability and a melody that lingers even when everything else seems to fall apart.”
