PLUS THEY ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF THEIR SELF-TITLED ALBUM WHICH IS OUT AUGUST 7

‘Heatin Park is a ready made stadium worthy anthem with its gritty, snarling guiatrs and rousing chorus hooks – its a punch in a velvet glove melody with its heavy instrumentals contrasting with harmonious vocals.”

Australian trio DMA’S have announced that their self-titled album will be released on August 7 via Wonderlick Entertainment/Sony Music Australia/RCA UK. Preorder/Presave HERE.

Speaking on their fifth album and the new single,‘Heatin Park’ –  Matt Mason says

Heatin Park’ started as an old forgotten demo banged into a new sound for us and that collision is what gives it its feral energy. The album is called DMA’S because that’s exactly what it is and we’re keen to bring it home and play for you all”.

Written and recorded between their own studio in Glebe, Sydney and LA, this self-titled album represents a defining moment for the band, showcasing the evolution of their signature anthemic sound with fresh sonic textures.

It’s highlighted by the band co-producing most of the record with Grammy Nominated producer Lach Bostock (Mansionair), with help from Jimi Somewhere and Styalz Fuego.

The band have also shared another taste of the record with their new stadium-ready single ‘Heatin Park’. The official video, filmed across the UK and Melbourne.

With its MBV-esque lead guitar riff and gritty, distorted vocals ‘Heatin Park’ is a stark contrast to March’s melodic single ‘My Baby’s Place’, which was added to full rotation on triple j and peaked at #1 most played, and is a marker of the breadth of sound this new record covers.

Renowned for their electrifying performances which has seen them play the world’s largest stages including Glastonbury, Coachella, Lollapalooza and Splendour in the Grass, DMA’S will bring the new album to life on their Australian headline tour later this year, kicking off in Brisbane on November 27 before heading to Melbourne and ending with a hometown show at the iconic Sydney Opera House Forecourt. For anyone who missed the one-off, sold out Hills End anniversay show in Sydney in March, the band will also play a special Hills End set in addition to playing the new tracks, and they’ll also throw in some of their cult classic hits. The new album will see the band further build on their incredible history that has seen them deliver four critically acclaimed albums, Hills End (2016), For Now (2018), THE GLOW (2020) and How Many Dreams? (2023), each landing towards the top end of the ARIA Top 10, and with the last 2 albums, THE GLOW and How Many Dreams? reaching #4 and #3 respectively on the UK album chart.

The band has accrued over 500 million streams across their catalogue, four multi-platinum singles, multiple ARIA Award nominations, including a win in 2023 for Best Group, and 13 songs in triple j’s coveted Hottest 100, highlighted by their Like A Version cover of Cher’s ‘Believe’, which topped the Hottest 100 Like A Versions of All Time in 2023.
