It’s easy to pass 90s era band reunions off as a flash-in-the-pan and riding the wave of a recent turnaround in youth culture, but with new single ‘Glorious Ways’, Sunwheel are returning with a contemporary purpose.
Yes, the music is heavily influenced by that heady Britpop era they originally derive from, but Sunwheel’s latest release arrives with a dynamic, shifting arrangement for a modern, alternative rock sound.
The indie rock band combine this arrangement with their staple jangling guitars and an energetic ambience, resonate with audiences both on record and live on stage.

This latest single, ‘Glorious Ways’, is a soundscape built upon uplifting themes and an anthemic chorus. It captures the optimism and emotional connection that sit at the very heart of the band’s music.
Consisting of Mark Gould (Vocals and percussion), Rob Manners (Lead guitar, harmonica, keyboard and backing vocals), Andy Richardson (Guitar and backing vocals), Tim Rice (Bass) and John Middleton (Drums and percussion), Sunwheel cut their teeth touring the university circuit and the London scene.

They were known for their soaring ‘Verve like’ choruses and accomplished musicianship. Fast forward to August 2024 and the band reunited with a renewed energy and purpose releasing new music as well as gigging with the well known and much loved classics.
Taking inspiration from other iconic bands such as The Charlatans, Ride and Oasis, Sunwheel blend shimmering guitars, driving rhythms and expansive soundscapes to create songs that feel both timeless and contemporary.
Their music balances classic indie influences with modern production and a strong focus on memorable melodies.

The band’s debut comeback single in late 2024; Ferris Wheels (and Laser Beams), introduced listeners to their distinctive sound and was supported by an official music video, both of which received much critical acclaim and praise.
Since then, Sunwheel have continued to build on this momentum through further releases, live performances, an ever-growing fan base and gaining support from independent music communities.
Recent highlights include being featured by Aldora Britain Records, sharing a bill with Scottish rockers Shambolics and appearing at Y-Not Festival.
